I also received a box of books from some old friends– Greg and Amy Whorton from Hot Springs.  Their book club collected books for us.  We got some really great ones– chapter books that can be for older kids.

Our latest donations have gone out to Cherished Heart Beat in Heber Springs, River Valley Shelter for Battered Women and Children,  and Children’s Emergency Shelter– Fort Smith.  I have also taken a replenishment to the Children’s Clinic at Willow Creek.  I have moved to a new building and needed some new books for my patients.  If anyone ever runs across books in Spanish, I would love to have some.  Gracias!!

Derrick just sent out several shipments of books.  These went to First Baptist Church– King’s Kids Preschool Program in McAlester, OK; Jefferson Elementary School in McAlester, OK; Puterbaugh Elementary School in McAlester, OK; William Gay Elementary School in McAlester, OK; Lakewood Christian Mother’s Day Out in McAlester, OK;  The Women’s Shelter in Newport, AR; Battered Women’s Sanctuary in Harrison, AR; and Safe Place Shelter in Morrilton, AR.  We know that these places appreciate and need children’s books.  It is so great to be able to provide the books in memory of our sweet baby girl.

On Tuesday I went to a Community Clinic in Springdale, AR that provides medical care for the underserved.  It is a ministry of the St. Francis House.  I took quite a few books.  This clinic really encourages reading to young children.  About 1/2 of the patients are Hispanic, so if anyone wants to donate books for small children in Spanish that would be great!  Keep those books coming.
